After Microsoft's planned acquisition of both Obsidian and Bethesda was announced, though, the conversation has resurfaced to the point even Obsidian is playing coy. Much to fans' chagrin that seemed completely off the table as of 2018 when Obsidian responded with a magic eight ball shutdown on Twitter. It's been over a decade since the game launched, and for that entire time neither Obsidian nor Bethesda have been able to tease a new game without fans wondering if it would be Fallout: New Vegas 2.
Sawyer's upcoming project has been a pain point for fans, as the game most want to see from Obsidian is a sequel to their critically-acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas.
